Abstract

Teacher competency remains a critical issue despite increasing educational demands. This study examined the influence of job satisfaction and workload on teacher competency using a quantitative cross-sectional survey of 382 teachers. Stepwise multiple regression analysis revealed that job satisfaction was the strongest predictor (β = .729, p < .001), followed by workload (β = .190, p < .001), explaining 56.4% of the variance (R² = .564). The findings suggest that enhancing job satisfaction and managing workload effectively are essential strategies for improving teacher competency and educational performance.
