Abstract

Water pollution refers to the contamination of water bodies by harmful substances, which adversely affects water quality and poses risks to aquatic ecosystems and human health. This study aims to identify the most significant factors influencing water quality in Langat River Basin using ordinal logistic regression. Notably, chemical oxygen demand (COD) emerged as the most critical factor (p-value of < 0.001), indicating a strong correlation with polluted water conditions. COD levels signify increased pollutants in the river, leading to degraded water quality.  It is hoped that this study will enhance public awareness regarding water pollution on environmental and human health.
